communicative tool

Communicative tool.

The second ICT tool that we learned was communicative tools. It refers to any application, software, or technology that allows effective communication between teachers and student. It allows people to create, send, receive and share information electronically. A communicative tool involves a two-way communication process between sender and receiver. Examples of communicative tools include e-mail, social medias, discussion group, Menti meter, Padlet, and blogging.

During this session at first, we wrote ours though about communicative tool on idea board using the link that madam gave us. From my understanding Communicative tool means any technology application which help us to communicate in order to improve our learning process. If we use communicative tools, we don’t have to meet in person to discuss or to communicate. We can communicate through technology being online. In order to communicate there should be someone who receive our message and a sender.

Why do we integrate communicative tools in the classroom?

Using the link that madam gave
we wrote our idea on Padlet why we must integrate communicative tool. Firstly, it encourages interaction between student and teacher where teacher can give information clearly and exchange information clearly from different places. Secondly, it encourages collaborative learning as communicative tools allow all people to work together from different place sharing their ideas solve problem.

Thirdly, it increases productivity as task or topic can be completed faster through online communication platform. Example:

The use of google classroom during lockdown every student use this app in order to learn. This app work as medium through knowledge spread during covid pandemic.

The most important thing is we have learned how to create those Menti meter, google doc, Padlet ang google classroom. using this communicative tool like Menti meter, google form, Kahoot help to get immediate feedback from teacher and help student to solve their problem immediately.

How do we integrate communicative tool in teaching and learning?

We wrote our ideas on Menti meter how we integrate communicative tool in classroom. Teacher and student can collaborate and communicate using google docs, google slide in learning process. Teacher can create polls or question boards to promote participation.  Teacher can use communicative tool in between the lesson to make teaching effective by asking question between the lesson.

Example:

Teacher can use telegram or vle to share information such as ppt, pdf or video for learning purpose. Teacher can use email, chat, or video call for collaborative project. The most interesting tool is using blog as a communicative tool to share our thought and ideas.

Example in this module EDT302, our tutor has given assignment to write blog on ICT tools which help us to share our understanding and jot down our points where it can be seen by our friend and tutor. They can give feedback or comment on our reflection. As a future teacher it is important for to know how to create and use those tools in classroom as it has lots of benefit for learners.

After that I have learned about email which means it’s a way to send and receive message over the internet. Its help to communicate and support remote learning.

After that we have created a word cloud using Menti meter which include 5 questions, and we have created a discussion forum on Padlet. Madam has shown every step on how to create communicative tool in classroom.

There are two types of communication in teaching and learning

Synchronous learning means real time communication in which users must be connected at the same time. Online at same time which help to give immediate feedback from teachers and peers. Its help to promote active engagement and collaboration in real time.

And asynchronous means which does not require the people to be logged on the internet at the same time. No real time is required. Example: email, recorded voice and sending a question and waiting for answer. It is adjustable and flexible learning platform but because of lack of immediate feedback there will be slow in learning improvement.

Lastly, we designed an activity on question and answer using Salido.
